BCCI Selectors will not look at me because they feel I am too old: Harbajan

He was also the Important player in the Indian squad of Winning T20I World cup 2007 & World Cup 2011. Harbajan also plays for the franchise team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL. Before that, he played for Mumbai Indians franchise team. He is the 3rd highest wicket taker by taking 150 wickets in Indian Premier League (IPL).

It's been 4 years since Harbajan have played for the country. His last game for India was in the 2016 Asia Cup. Even though he didn't play for the country, he is being consistent for the franchise teams in IPL. Harbajan says that he is fit and he is even ready now to play for the country.

ESPNcricinfo quoted Harbajan saying.that,"I am ready. If I can bowl well in IPL, which is very difficult tournament for bowlers because the grounds are smaller, and all the top players in world cricket play in IPL."

Harbajan also says about selectors that,"They will not select me because they feel I am too old. Also I don't play any domestic cricket. In the last 4-5 years they did not look at me even though I was doing well in the IPL, taking wickets and I had all my records to back my case."

He also added that,"It is very challenging to bowl against them and if you can do well against them in IPL, you can do well in International cricket. I have bowled predominantly in the powerplay and middle overs and got wickets. In International Cricket, not all terms have quality players like IPL teams, where every team has a top-six which is good. Yes, Australia, England, India have all got very good batting line ups."

He also said that"But if I can get Johnny Bairstow and David Warner in IPL, don;t you think I can get them in International Cricket? But it is not in my hands. No one comes and talks to you in this present Indian set-up."

The 39-year-old Harbajan Singh have played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs & 28 T20I for India and took 417, 269 & 25 wickets respectively. In IPL he took 150 wickets at an economy rate of 7.05.
