CSK vs MI

Shadab Jakati is a former CSK player have shared some incident recently, from the IPL 2010 Finals. Jakati is a left arm slow orthodox spin bowler. After 10 years, CSK won their First title against MI, Jakati have revealed that how dhoni's tactics have won their first title.

Jakati said Wisden India that,"I had gone 21 runs in my first over. With left hander Abhishek Nayar batting, Dhoni told me I'd now bowl in the middle overs, keeping me for the right handers like Sachin Tendulkar, Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard. We had done our homework against MI's right handers, who were potentially weak against left -arm spinners."

Mumbai Indians were chasing 169 runs to win the IPL title. They need 74 of 6 overs. Tendulkar was the one, who went for big shots. Tendulkar hits boundary in the 1st ball of Jakati over but in the next ball, his mishit went straight to the fielder and get caught. Three balls later Jakati got the wicket of Saurabh Tiwary. Dhoni's tactic worked out here. He also had a different plan to dismiss Pollard who is a aggressive batsman who can change the game anytime. Dhoni made a field set that by placing a mid-off as well as a long-off.

Jakati said that,"In that particular match, he got pollard out placing hayden right behind the bowler. He did quite a few things. Basically, he was a captain who knew how to get the best out of the players at the right time."

CSK have won that match by 22 runs and won their first title in IPL.

Jakati also said that,"Dhoni never attend any bowler's meeting. That's purely because he backs he backs his own instincts and gut feeling at that particular time of the match. He gave us freedom to choose our fields, and if it didn't work, he'd use his brains. But the first preference was us."
