Former Bangladesh captain Mashrfe Mortaza tests positive for COVID-19

Bangladesh cricket player Mashrafe Mortaza have tested positive for coronavirus. His brother Morsalin Mortaza have confirmed the news. Mashrafe Mortaza become the second high profile cricketer to test positive for coronavirus. Last week, Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi have tested positive for coronavirus.

Mashrafe Mortaza was suffering from fever for two days. So, he was tested for COVID-19 on Friday, and the result came today. The test become positive and he is being in isolation at his residence.

Mashrafe Mortaza's brother Morsalin Mortaza have said that,"He has been suffering from fever for two days. COVID-19 test was conducted on Friday and we got the result today. He has been found positive. He's staying in isolation at home in Dhaka. Please pray for him."

Mashrafe Mortaza became the member of parliament from Narial constituency in 2018. Since the COVID-19 reached Bangladesh, he has been working to fight the health crisis in his constituency.

The 36-year-old Mashrafe Mortaza have represented 36 Tests, 220 ODIs & 54 T20Is & took 78 wickets, 270 wickets & 42 wickets respectively. He also led the Bangladesh limited overs cricket team for some time. He remained one of the iconic figure for Bangladesh cricket team.
