England vs West Indies Test 2020 |
England started their 2nd innings with a good start & looked like they were heading for a big lead. But it was a superb comeback from the West Indies bowlers & they are looking forward to dismiss another 2 wickets as soon as possible on day 5. So if West Indies starts their chase early, they can chase the total & can win the first Test against England.
Burns & Sibley opened the 2nd innings of England with a good start. Burns was dismissed for 42 & they scored 72 runs for the first wicket partnership. At the lunch break, England were 79/1 & they were still trial by 35 runs. After playing nearly an hour after the lunch break, England took the lead against West Indies in the second session. Sibley scored an half century & got dismissed by Shannon Gabriel. And then Zak Crawley & the skipper Ben Stokes started to attack the West Indies' bowling force. They developed a good partnership & England reached 165/3 at the Tea break, with the lead of 54 runs.
Ben Stokes & Crawley decided to continue the attack even after the Tea break to get England into a winning position. But this backfired when Stokes was once again dismissed for 46 runs by the Caribbean skipper Jason Holder. Then the innings started to turn by West Indies side. Crawley who scored 76, which is the highest score of the match so far, also dismissed by Alzari Joseph. It was a raining of continuous wickets for England, when West Indies cranked up the pace with the second new ball.
When Jason Holder broke the partnership, then the innings slightly turned by West Indies side. Shannon Gabriel & Alzari Joseph took the following wickets & restricted England to a total of 284/8 at the end of Day 4. Gabriel has took 3 wickets, Chase & Alzari Joseph with 2 wickets each & skipper Holder took 1 wicket.
Jofra Archer & Mark Wood will come to bat on Day 5 & they have only 2 wickets in hand. It is very crucial situation for the England team. They need to attack the West Indies bowlers or they should defend every ball and make the pass of time. So they can end the match as draw. Or if they made all out, England need to defend their total against West Indies. But we don't know, match can turn any side. Let's see what happens on the last day. As the match is going very exciting & interesting, rain shouldn't interrupt the match.
