England won the 2nd Test against West Indies: Series Tied 1-1

England won the second Test against West Indies by 113 runs. By England winning the second Test, series was tied 1-1 & the decider of the series 3rd Test match will start from 24th July.

The Test match between England & West Indies was held at Manchester in closed doors. The first batting England scored 469/9 and declared their first innings. By the excellent centuries of Ben Stokes (176) & Dom Sibley (120), England were able to score a big total in their first innings. 

West Indies started their first innings at the end of last day. The 3rd day play was fully interrupted by rain. So, West Indies continued their first innings from day 4. In the day 4, West Indies were screwed up for 287 runs in their first innings & England were leading by 182 runs.

With the lead, England started their second innings with aggression. Instead of their regular openers, England sent Jos Butler & Ben Stokes for opening. But Butler went for a duck & Crawley dismissed for 11 runs. At the end of day 4, England were 37/2.

Joe Root & Ben stokes continued the second innings on day 5. Root & Stokes increased their score as soon as possible. After Joe Root run out for 22 runs, soon England declared their second innings for 129/3 & gave a target of 312 runs for West Indies. Ben Stokes was looking so aggressive in the second innings too. He scored 78 runs in 57 balls with 4 boundaries & 3 sixes.

With the hope of winning the second match too, West Indies started their innings. But the opening itself shocked the team as the top order batsman were dismissed for single digit runs. Campbell (4), Craigh Brathwaite (12), Hope (7), Rostom Chase (6) were dismissed by the England Bowlers Stuart Broad & Chrish Woakes. 

For the 5th wicket partnership, Blackwood & Brooks were joined. They tried to lift West Indies team from the crucial stage. But they couldn't make it possible. When score was 137, Blackwood was dismissed for 55 runs by Ben Stokes. At the right time, Ben Stokes made the break through & made the possibilities of winning by England's side.

After the Tea break, West Indies tried to at least draw the match. But the West Indies batsman couldn't able to control the England's great bowling pressure. At the end West Indies were again screwed up by England for 198 runs. Though Brooks & skipper Jason Holder tried to rescue the team at last, they couldn't able to win it. West Indies were all out for 198 & England won the second Test match by 113 runs. Because of this victory, England tied the series by 1-1. Ben Stokes were awarded the Player of the Match for his excellent performance throughout the match.

The decider & the final Test match of England vs West Indies will begin from 24th July at Manchester. If West Indies win the 3rd Test match, they will be winning a series in English soil since 1988. Can West Indies make history? Or England will screw up the West Indies again? Let's see the cricketing action on July 24.
