The venue, schedule & staging of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is yet to decided by the BCCI. Initially IPL 2020 was scheduled to play from March 29, but the franchise league was postponed by the BCCI, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Board, however confirmed that staging the IPL this year will be its top most priority. But the board has to take a decision according to the situations & according to the schedule of International matches. But mostly it is expected that IPL 2020 will be taking place in September - November window in UAE. Earlier BCCI president Ganguly have said that, if IPL did not held this year, BCCI will suffer to Rs. 4000 crores loss.

"As of now, nothing has been decided. We are watching the situation very closely and keeping track as far as hosting of the IPL is concerned. We are exploring all the options and some countries have offered to IPL, UAE also. But we are going to wait and watch and will speak to the government also. We will do whatever is in the best interest of the country and cricket, will discuss in IPL GC," the source told ANI.

When asked about the training camp for players, the source said,"Nothing has been decided as of now and we can't decide it so easily. Whatever is in the media is speculation. We are looking where to hold IPL and accordingly we will take a call on camp as well."

Recently, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced they have postponed the Asia Cup until next June 2021. The postpone of Asia Cup have paved the way for the possibilities of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) to held this year. The fate of IPL 2020 will be decided according to the postpone decisions of ICC T20 World Cup 2020 & Asia Cup.  Because, if both the tournaments held this year according to the schedule, then IPL can't be held this year as there will be no time to host the franchise tournament. As per schedule, T20 World Cup will be held on from October & Asia Cup will be held on in September. Indian team will be touring Australia in December. So doubt of staging IPL this year seen to be difficult. But now, the ACC have announced their postponement of the tournament, so if the Board wishes, the IPL tournament may held in September. But BCCI won't be taking clear decision about IPL, until the decision of ICC about the T20 World Cup this year. As of now, possibilities of staging IPL this year seemed to be good.

The UAE also keeping itself ready in case IPL have been decided to held in UAE. The Dubai Sports city's Head of Cricket and Events Salman Hanif have said that,"The stadium has nine wickets on the top in case a larger number of matches have to be accommodated within a smaller time frame. We will not be scheduling any matches there to keep the wickets fresh."

"The practice facilities are never going to be a problem as we have hosted multi team events before. In the ICC complex alone, there are 38 wickets - spread over the two Oval grounds, the simulated turf wickets as well as the state of the art indoor facilities in case they want to beat the heat," Hanif said.
