Babar Azam scores 5th consecutive 50: Eng vs Pak Day 1 highlights

The Pakistan skipper Babar Azam scored his 5th consecutive half-century, yesterday against England on the Day 1 of the first Test match. However, the rain interrupted the match & they played only 49 overs. Pakistan lost 2 wickets & scored 139 runs. Babar Azam (69)* & Masood (46)* are in the grease.

The three-match Test series between England & Pakistan, started yesterday at Old Trafford. 

England vs West Indies series

Due to the Outbreak of coronavirus, the cricket sport was shut down for 3 months.
Finally, International cricket returned, when Test series between England & West Indies began last month. Though, England lost the first Test by 4 wickets, then however they made a comeback and won the next two Tests & won the series. It was the first Test series, after the International break. Now, the Test series of England vs Pakistan had begun from yesterday.

Rain Interruption

The Pakistan team, which has been touring England for the past one month, clashed in the first Test against England yesterday. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The start of the match was interrupted due to rain. 

Babar Azam 50

Though Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali dismissed for a duck, Babar Azam stunned the England bowlers with his excellent batting. Pakistan lost 2 wickets for 43 runs, when Azhar Ali was dismissed. Then Babar Azam came & showed his aggressive performance. He hit 9 boundaries & completed his half-century in 70 balls. It was his 5th consecutive Test half-century.

Babar Azam is looking for his 4th consecutive Test century on the day 2. The first day was interrupted due to the rain. On the end of day 1, Babar Azam was not out for 69 runs & team score was 139/2.

Drop catches

Shaun Masood, who played with him, also scored 45 runs. His dismissal was missed twice by England wicket keeper Jose Butler, which changed the course of the game. England have not won a match against Pakistan since 2010. In this case, this match is important for them.

It's not Fab 4, it's Fab 5

The former England captain Nasser Hussain, have lauded Babar Azam for his excellent gameplay. Babar Azam is playing in the best form in his career. 

Nasser Hussain said that,"If this was Virat Kohli, everyone would be talking, but as it's Babar Azam, no one is talking. He's young, he's elegant and he's got swagger. They talk about Fab 4 (Kane Williamson, Joe RootbRoot, Steve Smith & Virat Kohli) but it's Fab 5 & Babar is in that.
