England smashed Ireland & won the 3 match ODI series by 2-0

England won the second ODI match against Ireland by 4 wickets & won the three match series against Ireland by 2-0. The first batting Ireland scored 212/9 in 50 overs. Then England went on to chase 213 runs. Though wickets were fallen, England somehow chased the target & won the match by 4 wickets.

The second ODI match between England & Ireland was held in Southampton on Saturday. The first ODI match was won by England by 6 wickets. This match was a do or die match for the Irish team to make the series tie. 

Toss

In the second ODI, Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first. At starting, Ireland batted very roughly, and their top order were dismissed continuously. Paul Stirling (12), Delaney (0), Andrew Palbirney (15) and Dector (28) were dismissed continuously by the England bowlers.

Again Curtis Camper

The veteran batsman Kevin O'Brien was also out for 3 runs. Ireland lost 5 wickets for 78 runs. Curtis Camper then banged. Like the first ODI match, he took the Ireland from the crucial stage. He raised the Ireland's score.

Curtis Camper was assisted by Tucker (21 runs), Simi Singh (25) & McBrien (24). Curtis Camper, who played well again, have scored 68 off 87 balls. He was dismissed in 49th over. Ireland lost 9 wickets in 50 overs & scored 212 runs.

From England's bowling, David Willey took 2 wickets, James vince 1 wicket, Rashid with 3 wickets & Shakib Mahamood with 2 wickets. Then England went on to chase 213 runs.

The England opener Jason Roy were run out for a duck & disappointed the team. Another opening batsman, Johnny Bairstow was aggressive. He continued the action despite the wickets falling on another side. Vince (16) & Tom Ponton (15) were out back to back. And then Sam Billings collabrated with him.

Shock for England

Bairstow, who was so aggressive, scored 82 runs off 41 balls was dismissed. The back to back wickets of skipper Eoin Morgan & Moen Ali in the same over, stunned & shocked everyone. They both went back for 0 runs in the same over. Then, however, David Willey, who came next played a responsible game alongside with Sam Billings.

England lost 6 wickets for 137 runs & then the pair Sam Billings & David Willey played a responsible game. Though Sam Billings played slowly, but David Willey was aggressive. Willey scored 47 off 46 balls & Billings scored 46 off 61 balls. Both were not out & their responsible play at the crucial time, made England victory.

England won the Series

England reached the target in just 32.3 overs & won the match by 4 wickets. This shows that England team were so aggressive, even they lost 6 wickets. England won two matches in the 3 match series and thus they captured the series by 2-0.

Curtis Camper was the only consolation for the Irish team. He scored a fifty as well as took 2 wickets in bowling. The 3rd and last ODI match between England & Ireland will be played on August 4.
