Recently Suresh Raina said on The Super Over Podcast that,"I would say he is the next MS Dhoni for the Indian cricket team. I have seen his calm, he likes to listen, he likes to give confidence to the players and top of that, he likes to lead from the front. When the captain leads from the front and at the same time, he gives respect to the dressing room atmosphere, you know you have it all."

When Rohit was asked about Suresh Raina's comment, he replied,"Yes, I heard about that comment from Suresh Raina. MS Dhoni is one of a kind and nobody can be like him and I believe comparisons should not be made like that, every individual is different and has his strengths and weakness," Rohit said in a video on Twitter.

When comes to leading the national team, Rohit Sharma haven't had many opportunities to lead the Indian team. Dhoni is the most successful captain for India. But, when it comes to the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rohit is the most successful IPL captain with 4 titles (with Mumbai Indians). The two cricketers often lock horns in the IPL with both their teams regularly fighting it out with each other in finals. In IPL 2019 finals, Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a thrilling nail-biting match, in which MI won the final by 1 run.

Rohit captained Team India 10 times till now. He has an 80% win percentage after leading the team to victory in 8 matches. Now, both the players will face each other in the IPL 2020, which is set to begin from September 19 at UAE.
