Virat Kohli's 183 vs Pakistan is one of his greatest knocks: Gambhir

The former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir have said that Virat Kohli's 183 against Pakistan is one of the greatest knock of his career.

The Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the greatest batsman in the modern cricket. He have achieved many milestones in his career. Kohli has a greater batting average, when it comes to chasing. If chasing a big total, every Indian cricket fans' eye will be into Virat Kohli., as he have led the Indian team to victory many times in a single-handedly while chasing a big target. Kphli has scored 5388 runs while chasing at a average of 96.21.

Speaking in the 'Best of Asia Cup watch along' show on Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir described about one of the best innings of Kohli. Gambhir chose Kohli's 183 vs Pakistan as one of his greatest knocks.

Chasing a big target of 330 in Dhaka, Virat Kohli smashed 183 runs off 148 balls with 22 fours and a six & led the team India to victory against Pakistan in a 2012 Asia Cup match.

"Virat Kohli has played many unbelievable innings across the three formats, but this (183) is one of the greatest innings from all point of view," said the 38-year-old Gautam Gambhir.

"First of all we were chasing 330, then India was 0/1, and then scoring 183 out of the 330 runs, that too against Pakistan, and that time, he was not that experienced too. According to me, I think probably this is one of Virat Kohli's greatest innings, honestly," Gambhir added.

Pakistan have scored 329 runs in 50 overs with the centuries of Mohammad Hafeez & Nasir Jamshed. India, then went on to chase 330, the opening wicket of Gambhir shocked everyone. Gambhir went for a duck & India were down to 0/1. Then, Kohli & Sachin Tendulkar added 133 runs for the 2nd wicket partnership. After, Sachin dismissed for 52, Kohli added another 172 partnership runs with Rohit Sharma for the 3rd wicket. And at the end, however India won that match against Pakistan with 2 overs remaining.

The 31-year-old Virat Kohli have scored 43 ODI Centuries & 27 Test Centuries with a total of 70 International Centuries. He also have scored 11867 runs in ODIs at the average of 59.3 & 7240 runs in Test Cricket at the average of 53.6. He is also being compared with the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar by the cricket fans for his Game play, runs & centuries scored. The cricket fans also debate that whether he will be able to surpass Sachin Tendulkar's most International runs & feat of 100 International centuries in his career.
