The Pakistan cricket team, which is touring England, is playing in a three-match Test series. England won a ‘thrill’ victory by 3 wickets in the first Test of the series, which took place without fans amid corona blocking restrictions. The 2nd Test between the two teams starts today (Thursday) in Southampton.

England trailed by 107 runs in the first innings of the opening match in Manchester but bounced back in the second innings. The 277-run target helped Chris Wokes and Jos Butler reach spectacular fifties.

England All-rounder BenStokes has been ruled out of the rest of the series due to family issues. It looks like Jack Crawley will find the field in his place.

In the previous Test, fast bowler James Anderson, did not perform well. He took only one wicket in two innings combined. Despite being the record holder for taking a total of 590 wickets, the recent setback has kept the team management thinking about replacing him.

Pakistan have come under heavy criticism for missing out on a chance to win the first Test. The team piled up 326 runs in the first innings but were bowled out for 169 in the second innings. Captain Azhar Ali (0, 18) scored in this Test. He has scored just 139 runs in the last 12 overseas Test innings he has played. Azhar Ali is thus pushed into a crisis of having to succeed in retaining the captaincy.

Pakistan are in good form on the bowling. If they can show the form in batting also, then they have chances to win the match.

England: Rory Burns, Tom Sibley, Jack Crowley, Joe Root (capt), Oliverbob, Jose Butler, Chris Vokes, Stuart Broad, Zobra Archer, Tom Bess, Anderson or Markwood or Sam Curran.

Pakistan: Shaun Masood, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali (capt), Babur Assam, Azad Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Shakeen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah.

The Test match will be telecast live on Sony Six Channel starting at 3.30 pm (IST). According to the Meteorological Department, there is a significant chance of rain on the first day.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was shocked when senior Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez spoke to an elderly woman outside a hotel outside the hotel yesterday and broke it on Twitter and posted it on Twitter. He will be isolated for 5 days and will undergo two COVID-19 Tests.
